The DkIT RiVeR Project team are delighted to announce the launch of their ‘In Their Shoes’ workshops and toolkit. This toolkit and workshops are funded by the RiVeR Project (supported by the Higher Education Authority).

‘In Their Shoes’ is an interactive toolkit that has been adapted, with permission, by the DkIT RiVeR Project from the original United States version of ‘In Her Shoes’ to make it more reflective of modern Irish society. This interactive exercise is designed to help participants understand the challenges that victims/survivors of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (DSGBV) experience in their daily lives.

This immersive experience invites participants to walk alongside these individuals, gaining a deeper understanding of the barriers, fears, and decisions they face each day.

💡 The DkIT RiVeR Project are hosting 4 interactive workshops over the coming months (including trainer the trainer sessions) and providing the Community of Practice with an opportunity to apply for an ‘In Their Shoes’ toolkit on a ‘first come’ basis provided they meet the criteria outlined in the application form.

Please note:

The morning session involves ‘In Their Shoes’ interactive exercise for all participants, the afternoon is specifically for ‘In Their Shoes’ train the trainer workshop. If you are only interested in attending the morning session  (‘In Their Shoes’ interactive exercise) and do not want a toolkit you just need to complete Questions 1-5 and 11 & 12 of the registration/application form – link below.

🕒 Deadline for applications: Friday 15th August
