✨ RiVeR Project hosts third annual Community of Practice Conference✨

On 23 January, The RiVeR Project at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) hosted its 3rd Annual Community of Practice Conference, bringing together almost 250 stakeholders from across Ireland to reflect on and strengthen our collective response to Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (DSGBV).

The conference marked ten years of DSGBV education at DkIT, highlighting the power of accredited education, collaboration and community in driving meaningful and lasting change.

We were honoured to open the day with a video message from Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan T.D., who recognised the vital and transformative work of The RiVeR Project in supporting survivors, communities and professionals.

Key highlights included:

🔹 The launch of eight new RiVeR Project DSGBV education and training videos
🔹 The announcement of a new micro-credential, Certificate in the Fundamentals of Coercive Control (commencing March 2026)

🔹 A powerful keynote by Nicola Douglas, European Regional Manager, Safe & Together Institute
🔹 A graduate fireside chat showcasing the real-world impact of DSGBV education
🔹 Research, practice innovation and collaboration shared across parallel sessions

Thank you to all our speakers, delegates, graduates, partners and the RiVeR Project team for contributing to such a meaningful day. Together, we are building an all-island community of practice to advance DSGBV education, prevention and response.
